The Mulligan Concept: Advanced Course

Become The Clinician With Whole Body Manual Therapy Mastery

This advanced two-day course builds on the foundational principles from the lower and upper quadrant MULLIGAN™ Concept curriculum. Known for its simple yet powerful pain-free joint repositioning techniques, this advanced course focuses on refining and expanding the clinical application systemically. Participants will review key techniques, sharpen their hands-on skills, and explore advanced applications including the Pain Release Phenomenon and strategic compression techniques. Through lecture, live patient demonstrations, case examples and intensive lab work, clinicians will deepen their clinical reasoning and decision-making within the Mobilization With Movement framework. This course also serves as essential preparation for those pursuing certification as a Certified MULLIGAN™ Practitioner (CMP).

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of this advanced-level course, the participant will be able to:

EXPLAIN

the neurophysiological and neuromuscular mechanisms proposed to underlie the Pain Release Phenomenon (PRP) and its clinical relevance within the Mulligan Concept framework.

Differentiate

between standard Mobilization with Movement (MWM) responses and PRP responses, identifying patient presentations most likely to benefit from the intervention.

Demonstrate
advanced manual therapy proficiency in performing PRP-based and combined MWM techniques across both upper and lower quadrant regions.

Analyze

the immediate and long-term effects of PRP and MWM interventions using objective outcome measures such as range of motion, pain, and functional improvement.

Critically

evaluate current research evidence on neurophysiological mechanisms of manual therapy, and the efficacy of MWM interventions across diagnostic categories.

Develop
individualized, evidence-informed progression strategies incorporating MWMs, PRPs, and active movement retraining for complex or non-responsive cases.

This course is designed for clinicians seeking to sharpen their manual therapy skills while evolving toward a neurologically-informed, patient centered model of care.
